Nearer to the Grasshopper Cottage, there is a pleasant ramble that takes you on a loop walk up the High Road, as it is known locally.  On the outward journey you have superb views out over the “south” lake of Lough Corrib towards Leckavrea Mountain and on the return you overlook the “north” lake.

Look out for the wide variety of wildflowers that can be seen in the hedgerows and fields.  From mid August onwards there are an abundance of blackberries to be picked and enjoyed.
